TRUBYVILLE ROVING REPORTER - McKenzie #2 January 9, 2009
I'm very excited to be today's Trubyville roving reporter, because today is my 11th birthday! YIPPEE! Let's get back to the whole reason I'm here. SCHOOL!
So, when I first walked into the classroom, I started talking with Megan and Hannah. I also brought two adorable little monkeys I bought
at Claire's for $7.50. One is pink and one is blue. Their names are Ying and Yang. Then, Mrs. Truby passed out our morning work. It was a math worksheet about inches. You had to add up all the sides. I thought it was very easy! But before I finished that worksheet, I ran to the Spanish teacher to give her my Spanish essay. I got back right in time for the announcements. Tyler, from Mr. D.'s class, was doing the announcement's and she said, "...and also Happy Birthday to McKenzie." I jumped out of my seat!
After that, we had to take the spelling and dictation test. I only missed one word...... PAYED! (PAID). Then, we learned about the Revolutionary War. We made a time line with a famous speech that says "GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!" by Patrick Henry. Then, we watched a video about the Revolutionary War.
Now, my favorite part of the school day......COOKIE CAKE! The class sang Happy Birthday to me (Trubyville version). I was very happy! I asked Kasey to help me pass out the cookie cake. After we all ate cake, Hannah, Taylor and I passed out cookie cake to some of my favorite teachers. Then I ran out to recess to pass out cake to Mr.D and my good friend Greer. She ran as fast as she could to get a bite of my delicious cookie cake. After that I ran over to talk to Taylor. But before I knew it, it was time to go to P.E.
I ran to P.E. so I could get there early. We started our 2nd week in basketball. As you all may know I STINK IN SPORTS! So it wasn't very pretty! First, we did a dribbling race. Second, we played knockout. I lost every time. : ( Then, we went to computer, and it was hot! BLAZING! Her cooler went out. I ran to my seat and plugged in my flash drive. Then I went on to typing pal.com, a typing website. I really don't like it!!!!
After computer, we started grading our papers. We usually grade papers once a week, but this week we didn't have many coupons, so we graded a couple of papers to get coupons. After that, we started our unit in pentominoes. We all had to get 5 squares for math. Mrs. Truby passed out a a worksheet. We had to make 12 pentominoes, let me tell you it's much harder than you would think!
Now time for my yummy lunch! For lunch I had a cheese and turkey sandwich with an orange Capri Sun. That's what I call good!
After that, we had recess. I always talk with some of my good friends, Cathy, Winnie etc. As soon as recess is over, we either go to band or study hall. I go to study hall. I worked on my pentominoes worksheet. When everybody gets back from band we usually do D.O.L., but since we finished it yesterday, we worked on math instead. I still wasn't done!
Then, it was time for Spanish. We learned about clothes and temperatures. We had to write 3 sentences. The first 2 were what we were wearing. The last sentence we had to write about was what someone else was wearing. I chose Erin. She was wearing a red Abercrombie t-shirt and jeans.
When we got back from Spanish, Mrs.Truby told us to get our papers. We separate our papers into A and A plus. I got 8 coupons. I packed up after I finished my Friday folder. Then, we watched some Slide Rocket presentations. After we finished watching all the slide rockets, we went outside. I ran to a blue table to see my friend Winnie. She was knitting a scarf, and she was very good at knitting. Then, I ran over to the tire swing for a little bit. After that, it was time to go inside to go home.
